New Logo Design
This recreational company River Town Outfitters from Smithfield asked us to design their logo. We worked using the idea from this client, during which we defined and created a logo to represent their company. Check out the results on our reference page.
The photo gallery requires at least Flash version 9.0.28.
What's a QR Code?
QR CodeA QR Code (it stands for "Quick Response") is a mobile phone readable barcode that's been big in Japan forever, broke into Europe a while back, and is now getting traction in USA.
In its simplest sense think "print based hypertext link" - simply encode a URL into the QR Code and then point a mobile phone (or other camera-enabled mobile) at it. If the device has had QR Code decoding software installed on it, it will fire up its browser and go straight to that URL.
But it doesn't stop there - a QR Code can also contain a phone number, an SMS message, V-Card data or just plain alphanumeric text, and the scanning device will respond by opening up the correct application to handle the encoded data appropriately courtesy of the FNC1 Application Identifiers that are embedded in the encoded data.
How could you use a QR code?
Your business, no matter how small or large, could use QR codes in a number of ways. You might auto generate one next to every product on your web site containing all the product details, the number to call and the URL link to the page so they can show their friends on their cell phone. You could add one to your business card containing your contact details so its easy for someone to add you to their contacts on their cell phone. Add them to any print advertising, flyers, posters, invites, tv ads, etc containing:
- product details
- contact details
- offer details
- event details
- competition details
- a coupon
- Twitter, Facebook, MySpace IDs
- a link to your YouTube video
What is it all about really? Well, some may not see it yet, but its another example of the blurring of the edges of media, as we all rapidly enter this totally connected world. It’s the blurring of the lines between our cell phone and the Internet, always on Internet connectivity wherever we are, whatever we are doing and whatever device we have on hand -whether it’s a cellphone, netbook, laptop, pc, camera, or TV.
